Public Health supports access to COVID-19 and influenza testing, and COVID-19, influenza and measles immunization across the province. Nova Scotia Health is pleased to share that the necessary fire suppression work at the QEII’s Halifax Infirmary site has been successfully completed. Dr. Ortiz-Alvarez has wanted to be a doctor for as long as she could remember. Originally from Mexico, Dr. Ortiz-Alvarez studied medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Blood collection and specimen sample drop-off services will return to Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre in Wolfville (EKM), and Western Kings Memorial Health Centre in Berwick (WKM) the week of Monday, May 6.

On Friday, May 3, the Advisory Committee for Black Public Health will be offering a Black Health and Wellness Event at Centre 200 in Sydney. The event will include a variety of services provided by a team of healthcare professionals and community leaders working together to provide a positive, Africentric health and wellness experience.

All are welcome to attend and take advantage of the services offered, as well as the opportunity to congregate with diverse Black and African Nova Scotian community members in a culturally competent space.
