With a diverse background ranging from accounting to computer science, Aminta brings a unique perspective to her role. Over the past two years, she has been an integral part of the team, leveraging her five years of experience in external primary care clinics.

When a major water line break disrupted operations at the Halifax Infirmary in April, it threatened to cancel dozens of scheduled surgeries. However, the heroic efforts of the medial device reprocessing (MDR) team ensured patients wouldn't face delays in critical care.

The Your Healthcare: Need to Know Expo will be held on Wednesday, June 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Chedabucto Lifestyle Complex, 60 Green Street, Guysborough. 

The expo will start with a short presentation from Nova Scotia Health team members on healthcare in the community followed by a question & answer session. Healthcare booths and community partner booths will also be onsite to provide information to people. 

By actively participating in local farmers’ markets, workshops, wellness events, and various other community gatherings, these dedicated professionals ensure a visible and approachable presence within the community. 

Their involvement in these events is not just about being present but about engaging with community members on a personal level.

Through their efforts, outreach workers help to ease access to vital services and support systems. 

Attention, North Cumberland residents. The North Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Pugwash is moving to a new facility on June 9, 2024, with the official opening on June 10, 2024.

Care providers will assist patients on move day to ensure safety and comfort.

In-patient visitors are welcome after 1 p.m. on June 9. The new North Cumberland Health Care Centre opens at 8 a.m. on June 10.
