The Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia (PANS), alongside Nova Scotia Health and the Government of Nova Scotia, have launched new primary care clinics at select pharmacy locations. These clinics are located in areas with the highest number of individuals without a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
These pharmacist-led clinics provide an extended suite of pharmacy primary care services at no charge to people with a valid Nova Scotia Health Card. Services include assessment and prescribing for strep throat, pink eye, UTIs, as well as chronic disease management (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD).
Renewals for existing prescriptions are available for almost all medications, and a limited number of medications can be prescribed new. Publicly funded vaccines for adults and children are also available, along with medical injections (fees may apply).
Services include:
- Assessing and Prescribing for Prescription Renewals
- Chronic Disease Care - Heart Disease
