Nova Scotia Health advises those with appointments at Colchester East Hants Health Centre and other Nova Scotia Health services in the Town of Truro to plan extra travel time due to construction at the intersection of McClures Mills Road and Willow Street.

Work begins the week of May 20 on a roundabout and will continue until November, resulting in traffic disruptions and detours.

Virtual urgent care hours are now in place at two emergency departments in Nova Scotia Health's Eastern Zone. 

At Guysborough Memorial Hospital, virtual urgent care will be available Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At Eastern Memorial Hospital in Canso, virtual urgent care will be available Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hours are subject to change at both sites.

WINDSOR, N.S. – Nova Scotia Health is seeking community input to help rename Haliburton Place, a 32-bed long-term care facility located in Hants Community Hospital.

The health authority is renaming the home to better reflect the community it serves and to move away from the use of the Haliburton name because of its association with the racist and misogynistic views and values espoused in Thomas Chandler Haliburton’s writings.

Inverness Consolidate Memorial Hospital has regained water use now that a break in the municipal water line has been repaired. 

All outpatient services that were cancelled today will resume tomorrow, Thursday, May 16. Staff continue to contact patients whose appointments were cancelled to reschedule them. 

A boil water order will remain in effect at the site until results are clear. 

Nova Scotia Health the staff for their great teamwork and appreciates the public's patience and cooperation during this unexpected event.

There has been a significant water event at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital due to a break in the municipal water line, resulting in the loss of water at the site. 

There is currently no running water for flushing toilets or drinking. Hand sanitizer is available and drinking water is being transported to the site.
