Heart patients in the Sydney and Yarmouth areas can receive specialized care closer to home thanks to the Cardiac Outreach Clinic initiated and sponsored by Halifax-based cardiac surgeons.

COVID-19 and Influenza Immunization Clinic:

Starting Wednesday, Nov. 1, masonry work will begin at Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney. This repair work is being done as part of continued maintenance on the exterior facade that is original to the hospital. The work is expected to take 10 months to complete.

During the work, people will still be able to access the building, however they are asked to use caution as work will take place in various locations on the building's exterior. They are also asked to follow any signage and/or barriers that are in place in areas where the work is occurring.

Nova Scotia Health provides an urgent service model of care at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital as a pilot model of care to better serve the community. The urgent service provides care for people with unexpected, non-life-threatening health concerns that require same or next-day treatment.

PARRSBORO, NS –The Parrsboro Urgent Treatment Centre, located at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, is being renovated to help better support patient care. 

Renovations are scheduled to start Monday, Oct. 30. 

All services will continue to be provided at South Cumberland Community Care Centre during the renovations. While work is underway, services will be provided with less available space and using different care spaces. Patients and visitors are asked to follow instructions and posted signage, and to use caution in any areas where work is underway.

Sony Rozario and her husband migrated to Canada from India in 2019 to provide a better future for their two boys and to pursue better opportunities in their careers. Rozario graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science with a Bachelor of Nursing degree, starting as a bedside nurse and later transitioning to the role of educator.
