Victoria County Memorial Hospital has a temporary urgent treatment centre.

Victoria County Urgent Treatment Centre provides access to care for patients with unexpected, but non-life-threatening health concerns.  Patients are seen by appointment only, usually within one to two days.

Monday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Friday – 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday – 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday – 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Urgent treatment centres offer an alternate level of care for those who do not have a life-threatening medical emergency but require urgent treatment. They are not the same as emergency departments. LEARN MORE.

Visitors are welcome from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please check with nursing staff, if you want to visit outside of the standard visiting hours.

WiFi and Internet Access

Free public WiFi. To request access to our guest wireless connection, please send an email to wifi@cbdha.nshealth.ca requesting connection information. There will be an automated reply with necessary information.

Semi-private and Private Rooms in Nova Scotia Hospitals

  • Private room: Includes one bed and one washroom. You can find current rates here.
  • Semi-private room: Includes two beds separated by curtains and one washroom. You can find current rates here.

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.

When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

When you are admitted, be sure to have your private insurance card with you and let the admitting clerk know you have requested a private or semi-private room.TV & Phone in your Room

TV and Phone in your room

TV Service

A TV is provided in all inpatient rooms. There is no fee to use the TV.

Phone Service

You can hook up your own phone by calling your service provider. There is a $10 connection fee and you will be billed through your home phone. 

Inpatient Meals

During your stay at the hospital, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive. Food is provided based on your doctor’s diet order.

There is a palliative care family room and a TV Room in the inpatient area

Victoria County Memorial Hospital is a short-term care facility located in the village of Baddeck. It serves the communities of Baddeck, Englishtown, Little Narrows and surrounding areas as well as the First Nations communities of Wagmatcook and Waycobah.
