Yarmouth Regional Hospital

The Yarmouth Regional Hospital provides care to 58,000 people in Shelburne, Yarmouth and Digby Counties.

Please note: Patients and approved visitors coming to Yarmouth Regional Hospital are reminded they must enter the hospital through the North-front main entrances ONLY:

  • North Main Entrance – Building A (by Admitting/Registration). Doors are locked at night from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Patients must buzz to enter after 8 p.m.
  • Rehab / Day Surgery Entrance – Building C. These doors are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and locked evenings, weekends and holidays. Patients with appointments in Building C, doctors offices, cancer centre, etc., may use this entrance.

Visiting Hours

Visitors are welcome daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please check with nursing staff, if you want to visit outside of the standard visiting hours. 

There is a rest period (no visitors) the Maternal-Child Unit, second floor, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily.  

*Learn more about NSHA's Family Presence Policy, which welcomes up to two people named by the patient to be their family or primary support person/people.

Parking

Patients and approved visitors should park in the North-front parking lot, closest to Vancouver Street, or the Grove Road parking lot. A $4 parking fee will be charged when you exit the hospital parking lot. Please make sure you have correct change before leaving the hospital. Monthly parking passes are available and can be paid with credit or debit. There are also a limited number of free accessible parking spaces available. 

WiFi and Internet Access

Free public WiFi is available in patient rooms and most public areas.

Semi-private and Private Rooms in Nova Scotia Hospitals

  • Private room: Includes one bed and one washroom. You can find current rates here.
  • Semi-private room: Includes two beds separated by curtains and one washroom. You can find current rates here.

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.

When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

When you are admitted, be sure to have your private insurance card with you and let the admitting clerk know you have requested a private or semi-private room.TV & Phone in your Room

TV Service

Bedside TV rental is available. The cost is $11 + tax per day. If you have requested a private or semi-private room, the cost of the TV services will be covered. There is information provided in your room to set up your TV.

Phone Service

Bedside telephone service is available. There is a connection fee for this service and you will also be charged a daily rate and will be billed for any long distance calls. To set up your phone service, dial 899 from your bedside phone.

Inpatient Meals

During your stay at the hospital, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.
