Emergency Departments

You can visit any of NSH's Emergency Departments when you require primary care during their regular hours of operation.

Visiting the emergency department will often require long wait times, and more urgent cases are always treated as a priority.  If your primary care care issue isn't life threatening, the emergency department may not be the best choice for you to access primary care.

Need a Family Practice Registry

Joining the Need a Family Practice Registry is the first step to obtaining a primary care provider that will provide consistent contact with someone who comes to know you, and your health, over time.

Register with Need a Family Practice Registry

Once you are on the registry, it will also open up access to Virtual Care NS, a virtual primary care service and NSH Primary Care Clinics.
