Some patient appointments rescheduled at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital due to Lunenburg area water shortage

LUNENBURG, N.S. – Some non-urgent medical appointments at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital are being rescheduled this afternoon due to the local water shortage.

Patients are being contacted directly if their appointment must be rescheduled. People with medical appointments at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital over the next few days are asked to please call ahead to confirm before arriving at the hospital.

Nova Scotia Health is closely monitoring the water shortage situation and working with the Lunenburg County Regional Emergency Management Organization which is posting regular updates for the community.

The safety, care and comfort of our patients, physicians and staff remains a top priority during this water shortage. We will continue to assess the situation and provide additional information if there are any further changes to hospital programs and services.
