Traffic Impacts on Robie Street Near Halifax Infirmary – April 25, 2026

Nova Scotia Health is advising crane operations will continue on Robie Street, on Saturday, April 25, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. All southbound lanes on Robie Street will be closed between Quinpool Road and Jubilee Road.

Patients and visitors are advised to use alternate routes during this time. Sidewalks and pedestrian access will remain open. The emergency department will remain open and fully accessible throughout the work.

Planned power outage at Glace Bay Hospital on Sunday

A planned power outage will take place on Sunday, Sept. 22 at Glace Bay Hospital.

The planned outage is necessary for work to be done on the hospital's emergency power system. It will start at 7 a.m. and will last until approximately 7 p.m.

The hospital will remain open. Portable generators will be onsite to power necessary items.

While the work is underway:

elevators will be down from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors will need to use the stairs during those hours. Overhead lighting will be available in the stairwells.
the hospital's phone system will be down from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
additional staff and security will be onsite to help as needed.

Inpatient services will not be affected. Staff will still provide care, meals and medication to the hospital's patients and long-term care residents.

Nova Scotia Health appreciates the public's patience and cooperation while the work is underway.
