Paving and repair work beginning at Cape Breton Regional Hospital

Paving and repair work, including prep work, is scheduled to begin at Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney on Monday, Sept. 30. This work includes sidewalk and curb repairs as well as paving. It is expected to take two weeks to complete.

Most of the paving work will occur in the main public parking lot in front of the hospital. To accommodate the flow of patients and visitors coming to the site, the front lot will be closed a section at a time to allow paving to be done. Paving will also be done along various sections of Regional Hospital Boulevard (Cancer Centre side) and near the renal dialysis unit.

Repair work on sidewalks and curbs will take place near the front entrance, near the Cancer Centre entrance and in areas along Regional Hospital Blvd.

People coming to the hospital are asked to use caution as this work gets underway. Please follow all signage and barricades and use caution when entering and exiting the building and parking lots. Traffic control will also be in place for many of the areas. Additional parking is available in parking lot P3 on the Cancer Centre side between the hospital and Highway 125 and parking lot P8 at the back of the hospital between the new cancer centre and energy centre builds. Also, there is no parking allowed in designated fire lanes around the hospital by order of the Office of the Fire Marshal. If this occurs, vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed.

Nova Scotia Health appreciates your patience and cooperation while this work is underway.
