All Saints Springhill Hospital inpatients evacuated - All services onsite suspended
SPRINGHILL, N.S. – All Saints Springhill Hospital inpatients have been evacuated due to presence of smoke and the site will be closed to allow time for assessment and remediation.
A total of twenty-one inpatients were evacuated. These patients are being transferred to sites inside of the Northern Zone, or discharged home. Affected patients and their families have been advised of the temporary move.
This is a rapidly evolving situation, and the safety, care, and comfort of patients and staff remains a top priority.
All appointments are cancelled for Tuesday, March 5 and until the safety of patients and staff can be assured. Appointments for outpatient laboratory and diagnostic imaging appointments (X-Ray, MRI, CT, etc.) are cancelled. Ambulatory care clinics, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation outpatient clinics, and primary health care clinics are cancelled. Updates will be shared on Tuesday, March 5.
Renal dialysis will be provided at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Efforts will be made to contact patients directly to reschedule their procedure or appointment.
