Visitors are welcome throughout the day based on patient needs and preferences. Family and friends may bring food to a patient but should confirm with nursing staff that it does not conflict with any food restrictions.

During your stay at the hospital, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. Meals are prepared off-site and offer a full range of food services to inpatients.

North Cumberland Health Care Centre provides enough space for the services housed in the old hospital and in the primary health collaborative practice next door to be under one roof. Through a shared reception area, doctor and nurse practitioner offices are connected to acute care services including the Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC), X-ray, rehabilitation, laboratory and inpatient care beds for observation, short stay and palliative patients.

This facility is a Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC). We are open based on physician availability. Please call 902-243-2521 for more information. During overnight hours, we are staffed by a registered nurse and licensed practical nurse who may consult with a virtual physician.
*Virtual Care Days
Patients can come to the North Cumberland ED and see a physician virtually, which means your appointment will connect you with an off-site physician through a device. We will have staff on site to assist you with the process.
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and generally ends at 6:00 p.m. (or earlier if all appointment slots are filled)

On some days a physician may also be present on site. Note that virtual appointments may also take place on physician days.
