Your primary care provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner) is where most of your health concerns can and should be addressed. However, there are times when you may not be able to see your primary care provider and you need care. You may also not have a primary care provider.
YourHealthNS
To learn more about all of the healthcare options that are available to you, you can download the YourHealthNS app.
You can use the app to do things like navigate general health information, book services, review some of your own health records and search for care options. The app makes these things easier and faster than ever before and you can do it all right from your phone or computer.
You can use the app to help you get care by using the ‘Find Care’ option and ‘Open Virtual Assistant.” This is an automated, 24/7 tool to help you find the most appropriate care option.

811
You can call 811 to be assessed and receive navigational support from a registered nurse, 24 hours a day. The nurse has the ability to assess your health concern and decide where the most timely and appropriate place is for you to receive care. They can also let you know about other options and supports that are available in your community.
