Survivorship and Nutrition

Good nutrition is an important part of cancer survivorship. Eating a balanced diet that includes plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean protein can help support recovery, maintain a healthy weight, and provide the body with the nutrients needed for healing. Staying hydrated and limiting highly processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive alcohol can also contribute to overall health and well-being after cancer treatment.

Research suggests that healthy eating habits may play a role in reducing the risk of cancer recurrence and improving long-term health outcomes. Making nutritious food choices can help manage treatment-related side effects, increase energy levels, and lower the risk of other chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. These resources can help you eat well to lower the chance of cancer coming back.
