QEII Health Sciences Centre Free Shuttle Service

Patients and families who are mobile and need transportation between the Victoria General (VG) and Halifax Infirmary (HI) sites are welcome to take the QEII shuttle.

This is a FREE service.

The runs between sites Monday to Friday, every 20 minutes.  (Note:  There are occasional delays when the shuttle has to be used for priority emergency lab transportation.)

Pick-up and drop-off locations:

Halifax Infirmary (HI) Site
Halifax Infirmary (Summer Street entrance only)
1796 Summer Street
Leaves every 20 minutes from 6:15 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.

Victoria General (VG) Site
MacKenzie Building (in front of entrance steps)
5788 University Avenue
Leaves every 20 minutes from 6:22 a.m. to 4:20 p.m.

Note: Unfortunately the shuttle bus is not wheelchair accessible.

Notice of change

Effective Friday, July 10, 2026, the QEII staff parking shuttle service will operate on a revised route.
The dedicated Garrison Grounds shuttle will be discontinued; with the Garrison Grounds stop integrated into the existing Halifax Infirmary –Victoria General shuttle service. The final day of the dedicated Garrison Grounds shuttle will be Thursday, July 9. The new continuous loop service will begin on Friday, July 10.

The shuttle will operate as a continuous loop, averaging 10-20 minutes, with no interruption in service with the following schedule:

5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
    •    Halifax Infirmary → Victoria General → Garrison Grounds → Halifax Infirmary
8:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.
    •    Halifax Infirmary → Victoria General → Halifax Infirmary
