Water and heat restored, more services to resume at QEII Halifax Infirmary site
Water and heat have now been restored at the QEII’s Halifax Infirmary site.
However, Nova Scotia Health is asking people to NOT drink the water. Three days of water testing will be required before tap water can be considered drinkable.
Fire suppression will not be restored right away. Enhanced fire monitoring is in place throughout the site.
Only emergency and time-sensitive surgeries will proceed at the Halifax Infirmary site on Friday.
Friday blood collection and ambulatory appointments will go ahead virtually where possible.
Visitors and support persons for patients at the Halifax Infirmary site are limited to one per patient in order to reduce the number of people present in the facility.
We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we work through this unexpected event. We understand the challenges this situation presents to staff, and our patients, families and communities.
