Temporary pause of Inpatient Withdrawal Management Services at All Saints Hospital, Springhill

The Inpatient Withdrawal Management Unit at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, has been temporarily paused for admissions from Monday, April 22, to Thursday, May 2, at 7 a.m. because of an unexpected gap in physician coverage. There are no admitted patients on the unit at this time.

Starting Monday, April 22, staff will be available by phone from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday to make assessments, triage needs, and manage wait lists. Through our Provincial Bed Management service, anyone requiring a bed for withdrawal management will receive one as close to their community as possible.

Recovery Support Centres in New Glasgow and Truro are available for:

  • Walk-in support
  • One-on-one support
  • Group sessions
  • Distribution of harm reduction supplies, and
  • Assessments for withdrawal management

We are reaching out to clients who have previously been receiving care and matching them to services such as the Community Mental Health and Addictions Clinic in Amherst.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and are working hard to ensure we can reopen as soon as possible.

For people uncertain about which service is the best fit, please contact Nova Scotia Health’s Intake Service by calling 1-855-922-1122. The service is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including all weekday holidays. Tuesdays and Thursdays until 8 p.m. Voicemail is available after hours, and a message can be left requesting a callback during regular hours.

We encourage anyone in need of mental health and addictions care to continue seeking support. Anyone requiring admission will receive the necessary care, even if it means being admitted farther from home than usual.
