There is a phone service interruption at Strait Richmond Hospital in Cape Breton.  A temporary work around has been put in place so the site is able to receive incoming phone calls through the regular switchboard number 902-625-3100. Crews are working on restoration of inbound calling to all other site phone lines.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Public Health supporting catch-up vaccines for youth in Sydney

Public Health continues to support access to free, routine vaccines in Eastern Zone. This summer, the public health office in Sydney is welcoming youth under 19 to drop in if they missed their Grade 7 vaccines. These include:

  • HPV (human papillomavirus)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Meningococcal disease types A, C, W, and Y
  • Tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (pertussis) (the “Tdap” vaccine)

If you don’t live near Sydney, call your local Public Health office to schedule an appointment for catch-up vaccines closer to home.
