The Mayflower Mall in Sydney, Nova Scotia, understands the importance of being a good neighbour.

Since the mall first opened in 1980, it has provided free space for countless non-profit groups to help them with fundraising efforts, hosted hundreds of community concerts and events, opened mall doors in early morning to local local walkers for safe and accessible indoor exercise and collected food, toys and back-to-school supplies for those in need.

Needless to say, when mall administration learned that both Nova Scotia Health and Cape Breton Regional Police Service were actively recruiting employees for their organizations, it wanted to help.

"We have a high traffic space here at Mayflower, so it just made good sense to offer recruitment promotion to these two vital employers...we all win when healthcare and policing organizations have strong employee teams," said Greg Morrison, mall general manager.

Recruitment promotion signs have been designed by Vibe Creative Group and installed in the mall's retail corridor, encouraging viewers to find out more about employment opportunities with both organizations.

"We are very grateful to Mayflower Mall for their ongoing support of our police service," said Chief Robert Walsh, Cape Breton Regional Police Service. "As we mark our 30th anniversary, this is a great opportunity to reach a large audience in our efforts to recruit people to serve their community with a career in policing."

Lauren Murphy, Nova Scotia Health's director of recruitment and volunteer services, echoes the sentiment.

"We are grateful to Mayflower Mall for supporting our recruitment efforts with these new promotional signs." she said. "This initiative will help us to engage with the CBRM community and raise awareness about the many career opportunities available at Nova Scotia Health."

Adds Morrison, "We encourage Mayflower shoppers to spread the news about this campaign on their social media platforms and during family and friend conversations. The more people that know about these exceptional career opportunities, the better."
