Harbour View Hospital is a long-term care and rehabilitation care facility. The hospital is divided into two specific areas: continuing care and rehabilitation. Within the continuing care area is a unit specifically designated for war veterans.

Visiting Hours
Visiting hours vary based on the unit.
Long-Term Care/Veterans Units: Visitors are welcome at anytime unless there is a temporary restriction in place due to infection and prevention control.
Rehab/Restorative Care Unit: Visitors are welcome at anytime, however, we prefer if visits are between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

To request access to our guest wireless connection, please send an email to wifi@cbdha.nshealth.ca requesting connection information. There will be an automated reply with necessary information.

Semi-private and Private Rooms in Nova Scotia Hospitals
- Private room: Includes one bed and one washroom. You can find current rates here.
- Semi-private room: Includes two beds separated by curtains and one washroom. You can find current rates here.
Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.
When you are admitted, be sure to have your private insurance card with you and let the admitting clerk know you have requested a private or semi-private room.TV & Phone in your Room

TV and Phone in your room
There are no TVs in patient rooms however, there is an option to bring your own TV and cable hook-up is available. The patient/resident is responsible for hook-up and disconnecting the service.
Inpatient Meals
During your stay at the hospital, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive. Meals are provided based on your doctor’s diet order.
Cafeteria and Vending Machines
The cafeteria is located on the first floor. The hours of operation are: Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Spiritual Spaces and Quiet Rooms
There is a dedicated palliative care room on the Veterans/Long-Term Care units
