Traffic Impacts on Robie Street Near Halifax Infirmary – April 25, 2026
 
Nova Scotia Health is advising crane operations will continue on Robie Street, on Saturday, April 25, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. All southbound lanes on Robie Street will be closed between Quinpool Road and Jubilee Road.


Patients and visitors are advised to use alternate routes during this time. Sidewalks and pedestrian access will remain open. The emergency department will remain open and fully accessible throughout the work.

What began as a desire to help those in need over 40 years ago has evolved into a mission to improve the quality of healthcare for all Canadians. Chris’s journey in healthcare started at the bedside as a front-line nurse. Since then, she has grown into one of the preeminent healthcare executives in Canada. 

Her experiences, her successes, and her values led her to the position of CEO of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute until 2021, as well as serving for eight years prior to her time at CPSI as President and CEO of Capital Health in Nova Scotia. Chris has held significant governance roles including past Chair of the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research, Past Co-Chair of CHLNet, and past Board member of HDRN Canada, Simulation Canada and Colleges and Institutes of Canada. She is past Chair of the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer and past Co-Chair of HealthCareCAN. 

Currently, she is Vice Chair of Pallium Canada. Chris also participated as a member of the federal advisory panel on healthcare innovation. In 2024, she was appointed as the Administrator for NSHealth. She is retired and lives with her husband in East Dalhousie, Nova Scotia, where she is active in her community and enjoys spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
