Starting Saturday, December 14, 2024, the entrance to the QEII Halifax Infirmary Emergency Department has changed to 1840 Bell Road. Learn more.

 

Please plan for extra travel time when coming to the QEII Halifax Infirmary. As of February 18, the easternmost, northbound lane of Robie Street will be closed for the duration of the Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project, leaving two lanes open. Expect potential delays and consider alternative routes when possible.

Mobile primary care clinic (upper respiratory) in Sydney

Nova Scotia Health's mobile upper respiratory access clinic has this upcoming clinic date:

 

Cape Breton Regional Hospital

1482 George Street, Sydney

Sunday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

This is not a drop-in clinic. To schedule an appointment, please call 902-574-3275. Phone lines will be open at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the clinic for same-day appointment booking. The number of appointments is limited. Hospital parking rates apply ($3).

The clinic will address non-urgent, low-acuity respiratory issues and is not an emergency service. Types of concerns that may be addressed at the clinic include:

  • Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
  • Influenza
  • COVID
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cough
  • Ear pain
  • Sore throat

Upon arrival at the clinic, you will be asked the reason for your visit to ensure your concerns can be treated. Please have your health card ready.

Please note other options for care:

  • Nova Scotians can now access VirtualCareNS, which provides free, temporary access to primary health care. Visit www.virtualcarens.ca to register or request a virtual visit. VirtualCareNS is not an emergency service.
  • For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24/7 by experienced registered nurses.
