COVID 19 Information

Changes have been implemented to limit access to health care facilities to support the measures that have been put in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 virus.

We understand these restrictions are concerning for our patients and their families; however, they are in place to protect our patients, the public and our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Public access to Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) is limited to the front entrance. A security desk at this entrance will be staffed by security and NSHA personnel. Visitors will be asked which patient they are visiting or which health program or service they are looking to access. This information will be verified before the visitor will be allowed to enter the hospital. Visitors will also be asked screening questions.

There will not be any access to CBRH through the pedway link with Health Park.

Visiting Hours

Please note: There are currently visitor restrictions in place due to COVID-19. Please visit  http://www.nshealth.ca/coronavirus-home/nova-scotia-health-visitor-restrictions for up-to-date information.

Visitors are welcome between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. There are exceptions to visiting hours. Visitor restrictions may vary based on the unit. Please check with nursing staff.

*Learn more about NSHA's Family Presence Policy, which welcomes up to two people named by the patient to be their family or primary support person/people.

A $3 parking fee will be charged when you exit the parking lot. Please make sure you have the correct change before leaving the hospital.
