In the Spring of 2016, three Community Health Boards (CHB) in the eastern zone pooled some resources together to create a CHB recruitment and awareness video. The video is designed to increase public awareness of the role of CHBs and to support boards in their recruitment efforts.
“The boundaries are down,” said Nova Scotia Health Authority’s Vice-president, Stewardship and Accountability, and Chief Financial Officer, Allan Horsburgh. He’s referring to the benefits of being one system as compared to nine separate health authorities, a change that allowed the organization to achieve a balanced budget in fiscal 2015-16, a result not experienced in the Nova Scotia health system in the past several decades.
