Thanks to our volunteers

SMH Junior Volunteers

7,000 is an impressive number. And even more impressive, this is the number of volunteers Nova Scotia Health Authority is fortunate to have across the province.

Our volunteers bring their skills, expertise and passion to the work they do. They give of themselves and their time, and our programs and services are stronger for it. There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to our volunteers – you can find them greeting patients and providing information to visitors, supporting community wellness programs, helping with events, leading community initiatives, organizing things behind the scenes, and so much more.

At an event this week, Carmelle d’Entremont, vice-president, People, remarked about importance of providing a meaningful experience for volunteers and the strength we gain from working together.

“What matters is that you can support the causes you hold dear, you can support your friends and families, and you can give to the facilities within your communities,” she said. “Our vision is a healthier province, but we can’t do it alone. That is why we are grateful for each and every one of you for your time and caring to help Nova Scotians and Atlantic Canadians be healthier.”

Thank you to all of our volunteers. You are valued members of the Nova Scotia Health Authority team.
