Drop-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics being held across the province next week

Nova Scotia Health’s outreach COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be holding drop-in clinics across the province next week to support vaccine availability for Nova Scotians.

The clinics will be providing drop-ins for the Pfizer vaccine to anyone age 12+ for their first or second dose* at the following locations, at the following times:

 

Eastern Zone:

Cape Breton University (1250 Grand Lake Road, Sydney)

Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Family Place Resource Centre (714 Alexandra St., Sydney)

Thursday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Drop-in only

 

Central Zone:

 

Halifax Public Libraries – Keshen Goodman (330 Lacewood Dr., Halifax)

Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In-person Arabic interpretation will be available on site.

Thursday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please dress for the weather, as this clinic is planned for outside.

*To be eligible for a second dose, it must be 28 days or more since the first dose, or 21 days or more if the first dose was Pfizer.

 

For those with mobility challenges, special needs, and/or have significant anxiety about needles, please notify clinic team members on site. Having this information helps the clinic team better prepare to offer support.

Transportation to and from vaccine appointments can be organized through Rural Rides for $5 return. Visit https://ruralrides.ca/ to find the nearest provider. Transportation must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Pfizer and Moderna are interchangeable – they are both mRNA vaccines. Regardless of which vaccine an adult has had for their first dose, they can take Pfizer as their second dose.

All eligible Nova Scotians are encouraged to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.
