Public Health continues to support access to free, routine vaccines in Eastern Zone. This weekend, a clinic will be held in Port Hawkesbury offering the tdap vaccine, which protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (pertussis). This clinic will be for people aged 18 and older who have not had a tdap vaccine in adulthood.
Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre
606 Reeves St., Port Hawkesbury
Sunday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Call 902-625-1694 to book an appointment. Limited drop-ins are available, while supplies last.
Nova Scotia recommends one dose of tdap vaccine for adults, and one dose in every pregnancy. This is particularly important to protect against the spread of whooping cough. Tdap vaccines are available through primary care providers, community pharmacy primary care clinics and Public Health.
