Visitors are welcome daily between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Please check with nursing staff, if you want to visit outside of the standard visiting hours.
There is a rest period (no visitors) on Maternal-Child Unit, second floor, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
A $4 parking fee will be charged when you exit the hospital parking lot. Please make sure you have correct change before leaving the hospital. Monthly parking passes are available and can be paid with credit or debit. There are also a limited number of free accessible parking spaces available.
WiFi and Internet Access
Free public WiFi is available in patient rooms and most public areas.
We make every effort to make sure your stay with us is as comfortable as possible. Patients requiring semi-private or private rooms for medical reasons always have priority; however, private or semi-private rooms may be available on request.
Private room: $175 per day - Includes one bed and one washroom.
Semi-private room: $155 per day - Includes two beds separated by curtains and one washroom.
Ward room: Covered under your Nova Scotia Health Card (MSI) - Includes three or four beds (separated by curtains) and one washroom.
Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.
When you are admitted, be sure to have your private insurance card with you and let the admitting clerk know you have requested a private or semi-private room.
TV and Phone in your Room
Bedside TV rental is available. The cost is $10 + tax per day. If you have requested a private or semi-private room, the cost of the TV services will be covered. There is information provided in your room to set up your TV.
Bedside telephone service is available. There is a connection fee for this service and you will also be charged a daily rate and will be billed for any long distance calls. To set up your phone service, dial 899 from your bedside phone.
During your stay at the hospital, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.

Spiritual Spaces and Quiet Rooms
There is a non-denominational chapel / quiet space located off the main lobby on the first level.
A bank machine and change machine are located in the lobby of the hospital.
