Guysborough Memorial Hospital serves the health care needs of the residents of Guysborough County. The hospital has a partnership with the Guysborough Youth Health Center and is adjacent to the Milford Haven Home for Special Care.

There are full-time and volunteer religious and spiritual care workers available. Staff can help families or patients contact a chaplain.
The emergency department at Guysborough Memorial Hospital will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 10 until 7 p.m.
It will then be closed again on Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 p.m. until Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7 a.m.
Ask your primary care provider for a referral to a Diabetes Centre. It will be reviewed by our team and you will be contacted for an appointment.

The emergency department is located through the main entrance of the hospital. Please register at the front desk when you arrive. The department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.
Virtual urgent care service is available onsite Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hours are subject to change. Patient registration ends 30 minutes before closing.
To access virtual urgent care, anyone with urgent but non-life-threatening health concerns over the age of five can come to the emergency department to see the triage nurse. If you meet the criteria for virtual urgent care, a Nova Scotia Health team member will support you by providing the technology and a quiet space for your virtual appointment with a physician. Bacterial testing is currently not available at this location. Please drop samples to Bureau Veritas Laboratories, 465 George St, Sydney, NS (902-567-1255). Chemical testing is still available through the NSH clinical laboratories and sent to CZ Environmental Services.
